Gozie Ugwu

Date of birth

Striker Gozie Ugwu began his career at Reading in 2011, during his time at the Madjeski Stadium he had four loan spells at Ebbsfleet United, Yeovil Town, Plymouth Argyle and Shrewsbury Town.

Following his departure from the Royals, Ugwu joined Scottish side Dunfermline Athletic where he scored seven goals in 14 appearances - including a hat trick against Stirling Albion.

After just six months with the Pars, Ugwu rejoined Yeovil in January 2015 and despite finishing as the club's joint top-goalscorer with five in 22 games he was unable to prevent their relegation to Sky Bet League Two.

At the end of that campaign Ugwu was released by the Glovers and signed for Wycombe Wanderers in September 2015.

He made 22 appearences for the Chairboys, scoring twice before joining National League side Woking.

Ugwu's time at the Kingfield Stadium was impressive, he notched 21 goals in all competitions for the Cardinals, catching the eye of the Spireites whom he joined on a two-year deal in May 2017.
