Right back, Paul McGinn, started his career at Queens Park in 2009 where he making his debut in Rangers 1-0 defeat against Raith Rovers. He would go on to make 58 appearances for the Scottish club scoring once.

McGinn signed for Scottish Premier League side St Mirren in 2012, however he failed to register an appearance and returned to Queen’s Park on loan before finishing the season on loan with Dumbarton.

After his successful loan spell with the Pars he joined them permanently in 2013, where he made 35 appearances and was named in the PFA Scotland Scottish Championship Team of the Year. 

On June 20, 2014, McGinn joined Dundee where he signed a two-year contract and made 68 appearances scoring once for the Dee.

The Scot joined the Spireites in the summer of 2016, a hamstring injury hampered his debut season. In total he made 19 appearances for the club, scoring two goals against Rochdale in the EFL Cup and in the final game of the season against Sheffield United.

Paul is the brother of Scotland international John McGinn and St Mirren defender, Stephen McGinn.
