The 2016/17 Players Player of the Year played junior football with Welsh club, Bodedern Athletic, before spending 6 years at Everton’s academy.

In 2011 he returned to Wales and played amateur football with Porthmadog, Holyhead Hotspur and Caernarfon Town.

Donohue signed for English Non-League side Sutton Coldfield Town in 2014 guiding them to promotion from the Evostick Northern Premier Division 1 South.

The Welshman’s performances earned him a trial with the Spireites in 2015 where he impressed to earn a professional contract.

He made his professional debut on September 12, 2015, in a 3-3 draw with Colchester United. Donohue signed a contract extension in August 2016, which will keep him at the club until the summer of 2018.

Capable of playing in numerous positions Donohue impressed in the 2016/17 campaign and scored his first goal for the club in the 3-3 draw with Peterborough United at the Proact in March.
