The youth team lost 4-2 at home to Notts County today.
Lee Walshaw named an unchanged starting line-up following Saturday's 2-0 win at Scunthorpe United.
The young Spireites started well and took a first-half lead through Matt Fuertado.
The second half went the way of the visitors, however, as they scored four times with Chesterfield's solitary reply coming via a Brandon Bradbury penalty.
Walshaw was pleased with his side's performance, saying: "The first half was possibly the best half we've had all season as we dealt with the conditions well and created chances.
"We created more chances in the second half but they scored with a couple of deflected long-range shots which gave Kurtis England no chance.
"We played when we could play and dominated for spells. I felt that a draw would have been a fair result but that's how football is."
