After scoring the second goal in the 2-1 win over Chorley, Jordan Cropper talked the press through his first Chesterfield goal.
He said: “Well I knew Tyson had the beating of him, he did it all game. So, I thought I’d just shout, 'Tys across' and luckily it was a great ball and I got on the end of it.
“I think the keeper was already on his hands and knees so I thought to lift it over him and it’ll go in. It ended up being a good goal.
“I’m buzzing for it, especially to get the second goal."
Cropper talked about the performance at Victory Park and how important it was to give an immediate response from Tuesday’s late defeat.
“It wasn’t the best performance but we are happy that we got the three points. Bouncing back from Harrogate, we needed to do that so we could push on,” Cropper said.
“I think we needed that three points today after Tuesday especially. It was a great bounce back from the lads.
“At the start of the game we were all up for it and I think we’ve shown that today. We just ran over them really and we just carried on and carried on."
Since John Pemberton came in as manager, he has amassed five wins in eight games and brought the Spireites out of the bottom four.
Cropper has seen how Pemberton has brought the best out of the players, saying: “I can see in the lads we’re moving it a lot quicker in training and everyone is working hard and enjoying it. I think performances are showing it.
“Five wins out of eight is not bad and we’re out of the bottom four. We’ve got to keep pushing on and working our way up the table."
