Chesterfield FC Women recorded a comprehensive 7-0 victory over their Worksop Town counterparts at the Proact on Wednesday evening with Paige Singleton and Robyn Henton scoring two goals apiece.
The Spireites took a fourth minute lead when Henton played Singleton through and she curled the ball into the bottom right-hand corner of the net.
It was 2-0 in the 20th minute when Sammy Stokes did well down the right and set up Henton who tapped in.
Amy Buzzeo added a third a minute before the break, chipping the keeper from inside the area.
Singleton (52) scored her second goal of the match after being played in behind and Henton (57) notched her second with a long-range free-kick.
Beth Smyth then curled a free-kick into the top right-hand corner of the net and Izzy Lonsdale completed the scoring.
Manager Michael Noon said: "I'm delighted with the result. We played some excellent football at times and created a lot of opportunities.
"The win keeps us in second place, which is great. We just need to keep winning our games and we should end up around the top of the table at the end of the season.”
