A Chesterfield XI won 2-1 at Ilkeston Town on Tuesday evening following goals from Mike Fondop and Jack McKay.
Fondop, who was one of a number of players with first-team experience who featured, gave the Spireites a 25th minute lead, applying the finish following good approach play from Joe Rowley and Charlie Wakefield.
It was 2-0 when there was a breakaway following an Ilkeston corner, Rowley carried the ball for around 40 yards and found Jay Sheridan whose cross was met by McKay (34) at the far post.
Ayleal pulled a goal back for the hosts in the 75th minute when his header looped over Kurtis England.
All the youngsters who were on the bench came on for a run-out in front of caretaker manager John Pemberton.
After the match, coach Neil Cluxton said:"It was an extremely positive performance with a good attitude shown by all."
