New signing Nathan Tyson could be in contention to make his Chesterfield debut after joining the club on Thursday and John Pemberton confirmed that there are no injury worries.
Manager: Jim Bentley
Liverpool-born Bentley began his playing career at Manchester City where he came through the academy, leaving the club without making a senior appearance.
He joined Telford United in 1997 and spent five years in the Midlands before heading back to the north-west when Morecambe came calling.
The former defender went on to make around 300 appearances for the Shrimps. During the last few years of his playing career he was employed in a coaching role at the club’s academy before taking up a player-coach role with the first team.
In the summer of 2011 he made the step up to player-manager, although he didn’t make another appearance as a player after taking the post.
Bentley spent eight years in the dugout at Morecambe and became the Football League’s longest-serving manager in June 2018 after Paul Tisdale’s departure from Exeter City.
Last October, he resigned from the hot seat to become the new boss at Fylde and his side currently sit in 22nd position in the National League.
One to Watch – Jordan Williams
Williams started his career with Burscough and Northwich Victoria before joining National League team Barrow in 2016.
After impressing at the Bluebirds, he had his first taste of the Football League when he signed for Rochdale, but the striker only made around 30 appearances before being loaned out to Lincoln City.
His contract at Rochdale ended last summer but the 27-year-old was snapped up quickly by Fylde and has gone on to score 11 goals this season, including netting against Sheffield United in the FA Cup last month.
Head to head:
Saturday will be the fifth time that the two sides have faced each other with the Spireites drawing one and winning the last three meetings.
Last time out the Spireites put on an accomplished away display at Mill Farm in October, claiming a 3-1 victory.
From the dugout:
Caretaker manager John Pemberton: "If we can get another win, it will be another step towards what is a big challenge."
