Chesterfield FC Women came from behind to make it back-to-back league victories with a 4-1 win against Arnold Town Ladies on Sunday.

The Spireites started well and were straight on the attack in the opening five minutes through Kel Fidler on the left-hand side but they couldn’t carve out an opening.
Chesterfield found themselves behind two minutes later when a stray past ended up at the feet of the Arnold Town striker who slotted home to give the away side the lead.
The response was emphatic from the Spireites, creating wave after wave of attack until a creative piece of work from Sammy Stokes on the right-hand side saw her pull the ball back for Beth Smyth to slot home and level.
Chesterfield continued to press forward, looking to give themselves the lead and created chance after chance until captain Robyn Henton stepped up from 30 yards out and smashed the ball into the top corner to put the Spireites ahead.
Ten minutes later, the Spireites extended their lead with an exceptional goal, with almost every player in a blue shirt touching the ball in the build up. Paige Singleton turned on the edge of the box and slotted in Amy Townsend who made a forward run from out wide to slot home and make it 3-1 going into the break.
The Spireites came out in the second half looking to extend their lead but Arnold defended well and tried to limit the number of shooting opportunities.
Youngster Courtney Caunt came on to replace Ami Buzzeo on the hour-mark and nearly got her name on the scoresheet but her shot just went over the bar.
With ten minutes left to play, a beautifully timed run from Kel Fidler saw here create herself some space at the back post and she smashed home to give the Spireites their fourth and seal the victory.
The victory sees Chesterfield move up to second place in the table with an important game coming up against Worksop Town at the Proact on Wednesday, January 29.
