The Spireites youth team lost 3-0 at Doncaster Rovers on Saturday but coach Lee Walshaw felt that the result was not a fair reflection on the game.
Describing the game, Walshaw said: "We started well and had a couple of good chances before they scored with a penalty around the 12th minute.
"They scored again after we didn't pick up at a set-piece. It was pretty even from then on for the rest of the half and we were 2-0 down at half time.
"The second half was pretty even and we created some more chances. Then a couple of individual errors led to a third goal."
Walshaw felt that his side deserved more from the game, adding: "Brandon Bradbury had a great chance early on and put it wide. Then another great effort from Brandon hit a post.
"Matt Fuertado had a couple of one-on-ones and didn't hit the target. The chances were there but we've just got to start putting them in.
"There were quite a lot of positives in the game and I would say that a draw would have really been a fair result. But the lads have got to learn that if you make mistakes, you get punished, unfortunately."
The young Spireites return to action on Saturday, February 22, when they are at home to Notts County.
