Following the continued success of the first team, Chesterfield FC Women will be launching their own academy for girls which will be ready for the start of the 2020/21 season.

Commenting on the news, CFCW academy manager Jon Cotterill-Bolsover said: "This is something we've been working on for a while and it's fantastic that we are now in a position to launch the academy.

"The first team continues to go from strength to strength and we want to make sure that we are able to develop our own youngsters so that they can one day play in the first team."

Through the transformation into an academy, it will see the quality of coaching improved with support from the first team technical coaching staff along with many other aspects such as contact time, strength & conditioning, GPS analysis and improved training facilities.

Trials for the new academy will take place in due course and a further announcement will be made with details when appropriate to do so. From there, players will be offered places for the upcoming season. Squads will run from under 11s to under 18s.
