Tom Denton made his first appearance of the season after recovering from injury. He was joined in the starting line-up by Haydn Hollis and Joe Rowley with Anthony Gerrard, Jermaine McGlashan and Mike Fondop the trio who made way.

Mandeville received the ball from Rowley and fired in an effort from 20 yards which forced Covolan to make a fine, diving save to his left.

A second substitution saw Fondop sent on to replace Denton.
Fondop was soon involved, trying a shot from distance which was deflected wide.
