After Tuesday night’s 3-1 victory at Fylde, manager John Sheridan stated that the Spireites’ first away win of the season was a well-deserved one.
“I’m chuffed to bits for the players and the supporters who travelled,” he said to Spireites Digital.
“I thought we were really good all game, even in the first half I felt very comfortable.
“I think we upped our game in the second half.
“We scored some good goals and I thought the work ethic was there.
“If you play like that you’ve got a good chance to win games in this league.
“I think we thoroughly deserved it.”
Curtis Weston opened the scoring before substitute Mike Fondop notched a brace and the Chesterfield boss was full of praise for his goal scorers.
“Curtis gives you 120%,” claimed Sheridan.
“He’s an experienced player and his attitude in training is unbelievable.
“Mike has come on and affected the game.
“They were two good goals and he’s a handful.
“A great header and a great little finish.”
The Spireites will be aiming to get a run of victories together when they travel to Wrexham next Tuesday night.
Sheridan put forward that he wants the players to savour the victory, however, he explained that he is fully aware that supporters will be eager for more success.
“I just want the players to enjoy it,” said Sheridan.
“You can see that the supporters were relieved.
“They want more and we need to try and give them more.”
