The youth team will be looking to bounce back after a penalty shoot-out defeat when they host Doncaster Rovers in the EFL Youth Alliance on Saturday, kick-off 11am.
Callum Brook netted a late equaliser to take Thursday’s National League Academy Cup game to penalties, however, the young Spireites were defeated 3-2 by York City via the shoot out and were knocked out of the competition.
Academy coach Neil Cluxton spoke after the game and was positive despite the loss, by explaining: “We go again on Saturday. It’s back to the bread and butter, back to the league.
“We’ve had a good little run over the past month, so I’m going into the second half of the season with a bit more confidence.
“Doncaster are second in the league so it’s going to be a tough game, but I’m hoping we can have a good go at them."
The U18s are experiencing a slight upturn in league form, winning two of their last three matches and will be pushing for another victory tomorrow.
The address for the venue of the match is as follows: -
