On Saturday afternoon, the Spireites will take on Rotherham United in the first home pre-season fixture.
A number of new faces are expected to feature for Chesterfield with the likes of Anthony Gerrard, David Buchanan, Liam Mandeville and Luke Coddington all having received run-outs over the last week.
John Sheridan could also take another look at some of the trialists who have been training with the club.
Rotherham, who were relegated from the Championship at the end of last season, could include record signing Freddie Ladapo after signing the striker from Plymouth Argyle this summer.
The Reds have also recruited two loan signings from Premier League clubs. Midfielder Daniel Barlaser has been recruited from Newcastle United while Norwich City forward Carlton Morris has been re-signed.
In addition to this, the Millers have signed experienced midfielder Shaun MacDonald, former Manchester United trainee Matthew Olosunde and young winger Julien Lamy - all on free transfers.
The visitors started their pre-season away to local side Parkgate on July 6 and came away comfortable 7-0 winners before travelling to Germany days later.
Whilst in Germany, Paul Warne’s men played friendlies against TSV Barsinghausen - which ended in a 2-2 draw - and FC Magdeburg, where they narrowly lost 2-1.
Since returning back to South Yorkshire, the Millers have defeated Bradford Park Avenue 5-1 away from home, meaning that the Spireites will offer them their toughest test on English soil so far.
Striker Kyle Vassell will be tough to handle for the Spireites backline after bagging a hat-trick just a matter of days ago against Bradford PA and netting two goals in Germany.
The former Blackpool and Peterborough United man has had a great pre-season so far, scoring in every friendly after being unfortunate to not grab a goal against Parkgate.
After the Rotherham match, the Spireites will play two more matches at the Proact Stadium, against Sheffield United and Burton Albion, before the start of the season.
Tickets for this fixture are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for concessions. They can be purchased online here or bought on the day.
