A reminder that the Vanarama National League fixtures for the forthcoming campaign will be released at 1pm on Wednesday.
As we close in on the start of the new season, we pick out the fixtures that fans will be looking out for on Wednesday.
To start off with, the longest away trip that the Spireites will be making is the journey to newly-promoted Torquay United in Devon. Their stadium, Plainmoor, is 254 miles away from the Proact Stadium, making it a round trip of over 500 miles!
The other promoted teams - Stockport County, Chorley and Woking - will also be interesting fixtures for the fans. Edgeley Park (home of Stockport) is a sizeable stadium for the fifth tier of English football while the Spireites have never faced either Chorley or Woking in a competitive match.
Many Spireites fans will be looking out for the games against National League newcomers Notts County. The 58-mile round trip to Meadow Lane, which has a capacity of over 19,000, will be one that fans will look forward to.
The other relegated club, Yeovil Town, will present fans with a long-distance journey, with those who make the trip to Huish Park travelling around 450 miles in total.
When the fixtures are out, fans invariably look out first for the opening game of the season. The Spireites kicked off last term with an away fixture at Ebbsfleet, winning 1-0.
Boxing Day is another key fixture for football fans and last season's game on that date was one to forget for Chesterfield fans - a 4-0 defeat at home to Solihull which resulted in the departure of manager Martin Allen.
Under caretaker-manager John Pemberton, the Spireites secured a point on their travels on New Year's Day, earning a 2-2 draw at Solihull.
The season kicks off on Saturday, August 3 and finishes on Saturday, April 25.
Keep an eye on our website and social media channels on Wednesday afternoon for all the fixture details.
