The Opposition

The Manager – Darren Currie

Currie is known to Chesterfield fans from his time as a player at the club. The nephew of former Sheffield United star Tony Currie, he joined the Spireites in 2008 after leaving Luton Town.

Currie scored five goals in 38 appearances during his spell at Saltergate before signing for Dagenham & Redbridge in 2010 after a loan stint.

Currie's playing career took in various clubs including Ipswich Town, Brighton & Hove Albion and Shrewsbury Town.

He also played for Barnet and returned to the Bees in the summer of last year to assist manager John Still.

Following Still's departure in December, Currie took over in a caretaker capacity before being named head coach in January.

One to Watch – Shaquile Coulthirst

Coulthirst joined Barnet from Peterborough in July 2017 after spending a year with Posh.

He began his career in the Tottenham youth set-up before making the step-up to senior level. Despite being a professional at Tottenham for three years, the majority of this time was taken up by loan moves to various Football League clubs, including Southend United.

Coulthirst did make one appearance for Spurs, playing in a Europa League game.

He was sold to Peterborough in January 2016 and was loaned out to Mansfield Town for the remainder of the 2016/17 season.

He left the ABAX Stadium after his loan spell and made the move back to north London to sign for the Bees.

Coulthirst has been in good form this season, finding the back of the net on a regular basis. One of his goals came in Barnet's FA Cup win at Sheffield United when he scored a penalty to give them a shock victory.

Head to head

The record stands at nine wins apiece in the 21 games played between the two clubs, with three draws. Barnet won 1-0 in the reverse fixture at the Proact last August.

From the dugout

John Sheridan said: "They're a team in and around us and they're a good team. I watched them when they played Sheffield United and they've got some quick and talented players.

"If we beat them we go above them so that is our aim. There are lots of points to play for. It's a very inconsistent league and anything can happen."
