Team News

Manager John Sheridan will be considering his options following Saturday's defeat at home to Bromley. Josef Yarney is still on the comeback trail and it may be too early for him to be selected.

Opposition

Manager: Darren Sarll

In 2001, after a spell in the youth team, Sarll joined the Hitchin Town first team and made 23 appearances in his only year with the Canaries.

He then moved around a few different non-league teams such as Berkhamsted Town, Bedford Town and St Albans City.

The midfielder then moved to Dunstable Town in 2004 but only spent the solitary season with the Bedfordshire side. He called time on his playing career after spells at Hemel Hempstead Town, Chesham United and Biggleswade United.

Sarll began his coaching career in 2006 when he joined then Conference club Stevenage Borough. During that time, he took the youth team to the Colwyn Cup final where they lost to Dunstable Town.

He left the club prior to the beginning of the 2008/09 season to join Brentford, where he eventually became Andy Scott’s assistant. He then followed the former Chesterfield loanee to Rotherham United in 2011.

However, in 2012, Sarll re-joined Stevenage. He became caretaker manager in February 2016 before taking the role permanently at the end of the season.

He spent two years as manager prior to his sacking in 2018. The 36-year-old joined Yeovil Town in June 2019 following the Glovers' relegation from League Two.

Sarll has taken the club to third in the National League table and won the Manager of the Month award in September.

One to Watch – Rhys Murphy

Murphy signed his first professional career with Arsenal following a spell in the club’s academy.

After a couple of loan spells, the strike moved to Dutch club SC Telstar, where he only spent a year.

He then joined Dagenham & Redbridge in 2013 and spent two years with the League Two club. Murphy scored 14 times in 46 appearances.

After leaving the Daggers, the forward permanently joined teams such as Oldham Athletic, Forest Green Rovers and Gillingham. He was sent out on loan quite a few times in those spells.

In 2018, he moved to Chelmsford City in the National League South. The striker enjoyed his most prolific season, scoring 28 goals in just 43 games as the Clarets made the play-offs.

Murphy was rewarded with a move to Yeovil Town in June 2019 and has kept his red-hot form going.

The striker has scored 14 times in 21 games this season already as the Glovers have made a promotion push for an immediate return to League Two.

Head to Head

Tonight’s match will be the 12th time the two teams have faced each other.

Last time out the Spireites secured a dramatic last-minute winner at Huish Park in January 2018. Kristian Dennis scored in the third minute of added time to send the travelling fans wild.

From the Dugout
