The youth team are on the road tomorrow as they face Grimsby Town in the EFL Youth Alliance Cup, kick-off 11am.

Last time out the young Spireites were trailing 2-1 at Bradford City before the match was abandoned due to an injury to Josh Turner.

Turner was taken to hospital in an ambulance but fortunately, the striker did not suffer a serious injury.

After the game coach Neil Cluxton said: “It was a good performance and if the game had carried on, it could have gone either way.

“We were looking threatening on the counter-attack, but Bradford had a lot of possession in their half without really hurting us too much, other than the mistake which led to the first goal.”

Grimsby were crowned champions of the EFL North East Youth Alliance last campaign with the Chesterfield U18s finishing sixteen points behind them.

The young Spireites will be heading to Lincolnshire keen to pick up their first win of the season.

The address for the venue of the match is as follows: -

Cheapside Training Ground,
Grimsby,
North East Lincolnshire,
DN37 0HT
