Speaking ahead of Saturday's game at home to Barrow, John Sheridan insisted that he is not unduly concerned after failing to bring in any new faces this week.
The Spireites boss said: "I've approached people about their availability and they want to come, it's just the politics of how I get them in and if I can get them in at this moment in time.
"If I can't get them in, I'll just carry on and get on with what I've got. Charlie Carter and Laurence Maguire trained this morning and they're both probably ten days away. It's like another two good players coming on board."
Sheridan stresses that he will not sign players just to increase the size of the squad. "I think I could go out and get five or six players and have them in tomorrow, if I wanted them," he said. "But I've got 23 players who are fully fit and Laurence and Charlie need ten days proper training and then probably a game or two to get back.
"I've got to knw that it's right for us to do it. I could just add numbers for the sake of it but I want to make sure they're the right players to make us better.
"Do I feel we've got enough to keep us up this season? At this moment in time, with what I've seen, definitely so."
