The Spireites youth team beat their Rotherham United counterparts 4-0 at St George’s Park Sheffield Graves on Saturday, with Levi Amantchi scoring a hat-trick.
Alex Render scored the other goal in a game dominated by Chesterfield from the start. They were 3-0 up at the break and went on to complete an impressive victory.
Coach Miguel Llera was delighted with the performance. He said “The lads had a good attitude and showed the commitment and desire we expect from them for the whole 90 minutes.
“The team played very effective football. We kept the ball and moved the ball really well at times. In possession, we played forward as soon as we could.
“From a defensive point of view, we kept great shape without the ball. We didn’t let them keep the ball and we won nearly all the individual battles..
“There were some moments of really good football and I was proud of them.”
Miguel hailed Amantchi’s “outstanding” performance, commenting: “He made some great runs into channels and he was a threat during the 90 minutes. He could even have scored a couple more goals.”
