The annual Armistice Day ceremony for Chesterfield Football Club will take place at 1pm on Friday, November 9.
The event, held at the War Memorial in the Chesterfield FC Memorial Garden, is held in the week to allow staff from the club and Trust to take part. It is intended to remember the 17 players and officials killed in the two World Wars.
As this year marks the centenary of the Armistice, the ceremony will look at each of those 11 men who were lost in the Great War, with each being remembered by someone from the club or community.
Manager Martin Allen will attend with his senior staff. The ceremony is open to all and will involve those from the club and Trust as well as partners and sponsors.
As the supporters were responsible for the Memorial Garden, we hope that as many fans as possible will attend and we welcome any people from the local community to play a part, too.
