Martin Allen believes that recent changes have turned Chesterfield into more formidable opponents.
The Spireites extended their unbeaten run to four games with a 3-1 victory at AFC Fylde last weekend.
Speaking to Spireites Digital ahead of Saturday's home clash against Wrexham, Allen talked about the changes that have been made in training and how they’ve transformed their style.
He said: “We reviewed in detail all the goals we conceded, where they came from, what areas of the pitch we were conceding from.
“So, we worked long hours on the training pitch correcting that and changing our style. Now I think that teams don’t like playing against us anymore.”
Allen also spoke about the effect of last week's win, saying: “I’m sure its relief for the players, I'm sure there’s happiness for the players.
“After the game in the dressing room there was a great spirit, a great feeling among themselves that they achieved a goal because whatever we all say, the pressure builds up.
“For the players it was a good performance and it was thoroughly deserved because we have played quite well recently.
“Tweaks and changes were needed, they’ve been changed and we have improved.
“We’ve brought a couple of extra players in on loan and they’ve really improved our team. We’re much younger, sharper and fresher."
After watching Wrexham in midweek, the manager spoke about the task facing his side this weekend. “I think they’re the best team I've seen all season," he said.
“They’ve got goal threats all over the pitch, they’re a very good team and the best Wrexham team I’ve seen for a while.”
