Martin Allen has praised the effort put in by his squad ahead of tonight's game at home to Bromley.

Martin said: "They have been as good as gold. The squad's attitude, commitment and the way they are as people, we could have not better people representing us.

"They care, they are committed, they are giving 110%, every one of them. We have had players who have played with injuries.

"We have a squad that is giving 110% and I couldn't ask any more from them and that comes from their professionalism, commitment and honesty.

"Do I want wins like all the supporters? Of ourse I do - I ain't stupid - but the effort, commitment and passion from the players is similar to the supporters because they are showing the same traits."

Martin also heaped praise on the travelling Chesterfield supporters.

He said: "To take 300 people down to Billericay on a Tuesday night, it's a hell of a journey. It was the same Saturday. The same group of people went down there. I think it was 274 that went down there and that is amazing."
