Following events at yesterday's match at the Proact, a matchday collection will be held before the end of the season to raise funds for St John Ambulance and The Air Ambulance Service.
A male season ticket holder, who is in his 80s, was taken ill during the first half and required urgent medical attention.
Play was halted for just over half an hour to allow an air ambulance to land on the pitch and take the gentleman to a hospital in Derby. Club officials were informed last night that he was reponding well to treatment.
The actions of those in attendance, including matchday stewards and East Midlands Ambulance Service personnel, has been praised.
Further details regarding the matchday collection, which will be organised by the Chesterfield FC Community Trust, will be announced in due course.
