Summer signing Curtis Weston has given his take on the first few days of pre-season training, admitting that it has been tough but enjoyable.
He said: “Yeah, it's been tough, because of course the weather and the workload, but it’s been good getting to meet the boys and getting into our flow. It’s been good.
“You have a break, but you keep yourself in decent shape and do the right things so when you come back you’re ready to go. It looks like all the boys have done that as well and they all look like a fit bunch.
“I’ve been doing a bit of football and a bit of short, sharp things, some good runs and tough runs and getting fitter. I’m sure we’ll get fit pretty quick.”
Weston, who is one of seven new recruits brought in by Martin Allen, is confident that he'll quickly settle in. “This is probably sort of the newest squad that I’ve been with in terms of new players and I don’t know too many boys but they all seem really good, top lads and it isn’t going to take long," he said.
The midfielder is relishing the release of the fixtures next Wednesday, adding: "I’m always keen to look at the fixture list early doors to see where I’m playing and where we're going to be, so I’m excited for that.”
