Manager's reaction to takeover collapse

Good evening to you all.

I cannot tell you how relieved and happy I am after receiving a call from my boss, telling me the takeover is over.

My bosses have allowed me to manage and do what I do best without interference, but of course at times with questions. At times the answer has been ‘no’, which I respect, but with letting players go and getting new players in, their support, help and financial backing has allowed me and my staff to put together a decent team that we can all be proud of.

Mistakes in the past have been made and they are not denied or blamed on other people and purposely, it was decided on my arrival that they would work with me but remain in the background to allow us all to move forward, flourish and enjoy our team.

Lastly, for me personally, I am, as you can probably tell, very happy that the players on and off the field, with all the supporters I’ve met at the games and through a non-stop series of events to try and bring this big family together, also the staff at the club behind the scenes, have been tremendously helpful, looking after me. They have helped me and supported me, working extra, extra hours to help rebuild this club.

If this takeover had happened, last night would probably have been my last game as your manager.

I’m sure none of you could ever imagine me working under a director of football, telling me who I can and can’t sign and what I should and shouldn’t be doing and it would not have suited me one little bit.

I am a double championship winner and I’ve moved my family up here with the sole purpose of another championship win.

Take care,

Martin
