Chesterfield are in action at Sheffield FC today (12 noon), as they begin their pre-season programme under Martin Allen.
It is the first of seven pre-season fixtures scheduled for the Spireites, before the season kicks-off at the start of next month at Ebbsfleet United.
Chesterfield will also make trips to Boston United, Gainsborough Trinity, Nuneaton Borough, Alfreton Town and Matlock Town, with the only home fixture being the Tommy Lee testimonial against a Wigan Athletic XI on July 25.
Since being appointed as manager of Chesterfield in May, Allen has been busy in the transfer market, signing a total of seven players. Shwan Jalal, Sam Wedgbury, Michael Nelson, Curtis Weston, Will Evans, Charlie Carter and Drew Talbot are the summer signings so far and some of them will feature at the Coach & Horses ground this afternoon.
Allen revealed yesterday that he plans to name the following starting line-up: Shwan Jalal, Bradley Barry, Will Evans, Michael Nelson, Jerome Binnom-Williams, Charlie Carter, Curtis Weston, Robbie Weir, George Smith, Zavon Hines & Gozie Ugwu.
The substitutes bench will feature Ify Ofoegbu, Charlie Wakefield, Jordan Sinnott and Joe Rowley, along with a couple of academy players.
Sheffield FC play in the eighth tier of English Football and are managed by Gavin Smith, who was previously on the books at Sheffield Wednesday.
Admission to the match is £5 for adults and £3 for concessions.
Chesterfield were also due to play Staveley Miners Welfare later today, splitting the squad for the two games, but the match was cancelled and will be rearranged in due course.
