July is upon us, Chesterfield’s competitive season under Martin Allen starts next month and the only opportunity to see the new-look Spireites at the Proact Stadium before the competitive games start is at Tommy Lee’s testimonial match on Wednesday, July 25 (7pm).
Popular ex-goalkeeper Tommy was forced to retire from the game last season - his tenth as a Chesterfield player - so this match gives supporters the opportunity to say ‘thank you’ for his 373 first-team appearances in a game against Paul Cook’s Wigan Athletic XI.
The game is a vital part of Martin Allen’s pre-season routine as well as being an opportunity to benefit Tommy’s testimonial fund and it’s been priced to attract as many supporters as possible, with adults gaining admittance for just £10. Senior citizens will be charged £5 and U16s £3.
Tickets are available online via the official club website ticketing system or at the Club Superstore (open 10am – 4pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays & Fridays).
Hospitality is also available in the SBK Computers Spires Restaurant at £40 per head whilst the Brampton Brewery 1866 Lounge will host the launch of the Chesterfield FC Former Players Association and supporters can be there, also priced at £40; food, stadium parking & match tickets available at both events which can only be booked via the Tommy Lee Testimonial website: www.TLTestimonial.com
Watch the new players and thank a legend at the stadium’s only fixture in July.
