Assistant-manager Adrian Whitbread has revealed that he, Martin Allen and Carl Muggleton will be taking part in the Markovitz Sparkle Night Walk next weekend, in aid of Ashgate Hospicecare.
Speaking to *Spireites Digital, Whitbread said: "We met the ladies from the hospice and the manager asked me what I was doing next Saturday evening. I knew something was coming but I didn't know what was coming.
"He said: 'How do you fancy doing a 10k walk next weekend?' I said: 'No problem'. He's going to do it himself and Carl Muggleton is going to join us as well.
"It's something that is dear to our hearts after losing parents over the course of the last few years, me most recently and the gaffer before.
"Having seen it first hand, it's an unbelievable job that they do. The more recognition and the more we can get it out there, the more that they will obviously benefit. Not just themselves but hospices around the country."
The walk, which last year raised £202,500, will start at the Proact Stadium at 10pm on Saturday. It costs £15 to enter and entries can be made here.
