Chesterfield have completed their second deadline day signing, with the capture of forward Louis Dodds from Shrewsbury Town.
Dodds arrives at the Proact on an 18-month contract and could make his Spireites debut in this weekend's match with Crawley Town at the Proact.
Speaking about his move to North Derbyshire, Dodds said: "I'm delighted, I spoke to the manager about it a couple of days ago and he really sold the club to me.
"I now just want to get out onto the pitch and show what I can do."
Dodds’ career started out at Leicester City, though he would not go on to make a first team appearance at the King Power Stadium, instead he gained valuable experience from loan spells at Northwich Victoria, Rochdale and Lincoln City. During his time at Sincil Bank, Dodds scored 9 goals in 41 appearances.
In the summer of 2008, Dodds moved to Port Vale following his release from the Foxes, scoring on his debut against Luton Town. During the 2012/13 season he was part of the Vale side that gained promotion to Sky Bet League One.
After eight years in the Potteries Dodds joined Shrewsbury in the summer of 2016, where he made 62 appearances, scoring 12 times.
