The Spireites have made their third signing of the day with midfielder Josh Kay arriving from Barnsley.
Kay, who is 21, joined Barnsley from AFC Fylde in the summer of 2016. After playing in Barnsley’s development team, he made one first-team appearances for them.
He moved on loan to Tranmere Rovers in November and made two appearances as a substitute during his time there.
Manager Jack Lester describes Kay as "an energetic midfielder who is purposeful and has an eye for goal." He added: "Josh worked well with Tommy (Wright) when he was at Barnsley and we are very lucky to have signed him on a permanent basis."
Kay commented: “I’m looking forward to kicking on and getting into the first team as soon as possible.
“I spoke to Jack just before I signed and he’s a really ambitious guy. I want to help this club get us up where we belong."
