JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB ROLE: Stadium Maintenance Technician

LINE MANAGED BY: Stadium Manager

REPORTING TO: Chief Executive Officer

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB: To provide efficient and effective caretaking support to the club, including ensuring the security and general appearance of the buildings and surrounding areas are maintained in accordance with the required standards of the club. The post holder will be expected to observe safe working practices in carrying out the required duties and ensure that instructions specified by technical consultants, contractors and manufacturers are adhered to.

SALARY: Negotiable subject to experience & qualifications.

HOURS: Full-time - 37.5 hours per week including home matchdays (20 days annual holiday plus statutory Bank Holidays).

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To support the maintenance of the stadium by checking and replacing light fittings and undertaking minor repairs (not requiring a contractor) of a range of equipment throughout the stadium.

To clean light fittings and to test lighting systems weekly, replacing where necessary minor parts such as tubes, bulbs, fuses starters and diffusers, in accordance with safe working practices.

To ensure heating plant and equipment is efficiently and effectively operated, make adjustments as necessary and report defects and malfunctions to the stadium manager.

To carry out routine and emergency repairs/maintenance as requested by line manager.

To arrange to clear blockages, remove foreign matter from sinks, toilets, drains, kitchen grease traps, etc and clean up spillages as required.

To ensure that gullies, drains, etc are kept free from debris and that the club and grounds are litter-free.

To be responsible for maintaining the security of the premises and its contents in accordance with the club’s current requirements. Opening and locking up of the club, including lights and internal doors.

To be responsible for ensuring clear and safe pedestrian access to the club, particularly in adverse weather conditions (ie clearing snow, gritting, etc).

To monitor stock levels of consumable items such as fuel, grit, light bulbs/tubes and arrange to replenish supplies in accordance with current procedures.

To maintain appropriate records including carry out meter readings for the club.

To report emergencies in the case of faults with gas, electric and water supply to the stadium manager, or where not immediately available technical services or regular contractors, and report minor faults on site to the stadium manager.

To attend, where necessary, personnel visiting the site such as contractors.

To carry out grass cutting on site mower and some grounds maintenance.

To comply with the requirements of Health and Safety, other relevant legislation and club policies and carry out weekly fire alarm tests, and assist with evacuation procedures.

Act as a designated key holder, providing response to emergency calls if required.

To dispose of waste materials in a safe, hygienic manner ensuring that it is available for collection as required.

To undertake porterage tasks as required.

Collect and assemble waste for collection

Perform duties in line with health & safety regulations (COSHH) and take action where hazards are identified, reporting serious hazards to line manager immediately

To understand and comply with the club’s Equal Opportunities Policy.

To undertake handy persons duties as directed by the stadium manager.

To carry out tasks which include basic plumbing, joinery, painting and decorating

Receive deliveries to the site, if required.

To carry out any other reasonable duties within the overall function of the job.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

(Essential):

Proven track record and experience in maintenance. 

(Desirable):

Professional trade qualification ie. Plumbing / Electrical/ Building
PASMA
Working at Heights.
Experience in the Security Industry.
Competent in the use of CCTV.
