Chesterfield defeated Notts County 2-1 in a behind closed doors match at the Proact this afternoon.
The match saw new signings Giles Coke and Jacob Brown made their first appearances in a Town shirt, while Bradley Barry and Gozie Ugwu both returned from injury.
The Spirietes took the lead in the 9th minute, when Louis Dodds’ corner was flicked on by Ugwu inside the penalty area and Marshall Willock headed past the County goalkeeper from eight yards out.
The visitors levelled on the hour mark, when Mason Bennett volleyed in from close range after a cross from the right flank.
But 15 minutes later the Spireites regained the lead, when Chris O’Grady picked up the ball inside the Magpies half, he then played a superb pass in behind the defence for Joe Rowley, the winger took a touch before firing across the goalkeeper and into the net via the post.
