The following Thursday, they will have another Floodlit Cup tie at Clay Cross Town, against Barnsley, which is also kicks-off at 7pm. Admission to both games is free.

Meanwhile, the Under-15s will be involved in qualifiers for the Premier league Floodlit Cup on Sunday, September 2 at Sheffield United’s academy.

Coach Darren Molloy is excited about the prospect of entering the competition. He said: “It’s the first time we’ve entered it and it should be a great experience for the players. Cat 1 academies are automatically included in the first round while Cat 2 academies and selected Cat 3 academies have to go through the qualifiers.”

Leeds United, Sheffield Wednesday, Barnsley and Oldham Athletic are also involved at the qualifying stage.
