The youth team made it back to back wins the EFL Youth Alliance North East, with a 3-2 victory away at Notts County on Saturday.
Goals from Levi Amantchi, Ify Ofoegbu and Robbie Foster, were enough to secure the win, over a team that at the start of the day were second in the table, three places and four points ahead of the Spireites.
Amantchi opened the scoring, when he got on the end of Jack Holmes’ cross and lifted the ball over the Magpies ‘keeper in the first half.
Moments later a well worked move, saw Luke Rawson play Ofoegbu through on goal, before the Nigerian calmly slotted the ball in the bottom left-hand corner of the net. The hosts then pulled a goal back following a counter attack, as the Spireites went into the break 2-1 ahead.
Substitute Zak Walker then provided fellow substitute Foster with a cross from the left flank, and the striker made no mistake, heading the ball past the despairing goalkeeper from close range.
A further County goal ensued a nervous finale, but Miguel Llera’s side were able to hold on for the victory.
The youth team are next in action on Thursday, when they travel to Rotherham United (2pm), before facing Mansfield Town at St George’s Park, Sheffield Graves two days later (11am).
