Congratulations to Spireites academy striker Will Russ, who has been called up by Wales U16s for a two-day training camp later this month.
Russ, who has been selected for the Welsh U16s side on numerous occassions this season, will join up with the squad for the camp based in Newport on Monday, April 16.
Speaking about his inclusion, academy manager Mark Smith said: "It's brilliant for him, his family and the academy.
"It shows you just what sort of work is going in to academies, in trying to make them better players. It's a feather in our cap, but it's more of a feather in Will's cap, hopefully he'll keep going on and on."
Earlier this season it was announced that Russ, 15, would be awarded an academy scholarship, making him the youngest player in the club's history to have been offered one.
The striker has featured regularly for both the U16s and youth team this season, and Smith believes that the experiences gained with his national side, have benefited him on his return to action with the Spireites.
He added: "What you can't forget is that he's playing a year up, so you see a change in him when he comes back to us.
"He's more confident, and we're trying to get him to show more of that confidence in youth team games."
