Diego De Girolamo was joined by Jack Brownell and Jay Smith on a visit to Mary Swanwick Primary School in Old Whittington.
The trio’s visit, which was organised by the Community Trust, was welcomed by Katie Parr, who is head of school at Mary Swanwick.
She said: “The pupils are always really excited to see professional sports people and they always respond better to someone else coming in to teach them skills.
"It was a really valuable experience for them and we value our partnership with the Community Trust.”
De Girolamo, who of course hails from Chesterfield, recalls the thrill of meeting some Spireites players when he was at school.
He said: "I remember when I was a kid at St Mary's Primary School in Chesterfield and we used to have player visits, which were really exciting.
"It's very important for us to get out and about in the community."
