Fans are advised that they are also able to purchase tickets on the day from the Alexandra Stadium, with no price increase.

Team News

The hosts will be without on-loan midfielder Conor Grant, after he suffered a head injury in last week's match with Grimsby Town. Defender George Ray will also miss out as he continues his recovery from a back fracture.

Meanwhile, Alex academy striker Owen Dale could once again feature, after making his league debut in last weekend’s loss at Blundell Park.

The Spireites will be without injury absentees, Jerome Binnom-Williams, Joe Rowley and Connor Dimaio for the game, while midfielder Robbie Weir misses out through suspension following his dismissal in the match with Coventry City last Saturday.

Defender Bradley Barry could come back into contention for the Spireites, having trained with the squad since Tuesday.

The opposition

Manager – David Artell

Artell took over the reins at the Alexandra Stadium in January, following the departure of Steve Davis. Prior to taking charge of the first team, Artell held the post of operations manager in the club’s academy.

So far this season the Alex have won two, drawn two and lost the other of their five league games.

As a player, Artell played for 11 clubs across an 18-year career, including 82 appearances for Crewe – whom he captained to League One promotion in 2012.

Towards the latter stages of his career, Artell earned seven caps for Gibraltar, one of which came against world champions, Germany.

One to watch -  Chris Porter

Former Spireites loanee Chris Porter, began his career with Bury spending three seasons with the Shakers, before joining Oldham Athletic.

His prolific spell at Boundary Park (31 goals in 75 appearances), saw him earn a move to Motherwell, before a move to Derby County in 2008. He then spent time with Sheffield United and Colchester United before putting pen to paper with the Alex in July.

Porter has certainly hit the ground running during his short time with the club, scoring four times already this season, including a brace in the opening day draw with Mansfield Town and the winning goal in the clash with Barnet on August 19.

Head to Head

Tomorrow’s clash will be the 83rd meeting between the two sides and the Spireites have the upper hand, with the full record is as follows.

Crewe Alexandra – 27 wins

Draws – 14

Chesterfield – 41 wins.

Matches between the two sides generally produce goals, none more so than back in February 1936, where the Spireites managed to pull off an incredible 6-5 victory at Gresty Road!

The Spireites goal scorers that day were, Joe Spence (x2), Maurice Dando (x2) Harry Clifton and Joe Miller.

From the dugout

Following the display of resolve and determination against Coventry last time out, Spireites boss, Gary Caldwell, has called on his team to show the same qualities and more against the Railwaymen, as they bid to obtain their first away victory of the season.

He said: “I thought the performance last week was what we were looking for in terms of defensive structure and aggression from the players, we have to build on that now and add to it to get the three points.

“It’ll be a difficult game, Crewe play a lot more football than most League Two sides, they’re an energetic team and one that can cause you problems.

"We have to deal with that while focusing on what we can do.”

Can't get to Gresty Road? Fear not you can still follow all the action from the game.
