New signing Matt Briggs, says that he can’t wait to show people what he can do, in his first interview as a Spireite.
The Guyana international signed this morning as a free agent and has previously had spells with Fulham, Milwall and most recently Colchester United.
Briggs describes himself as a fast, attack-minded left back and is relishing the challenge to pull on the blue shirt.
Speaking exclusively to iFollow, the 26-year old said: “It feels good to be here, obviously I’ve been looking for a club over the summer and Gary Caldwell has given me a good opportunity to show people what I can do.
“The facilities here are great, the lads have been very welcoming and I’m looking forward to getting started here and enjoying my football.”
When Briggs made his debut for Fulham in May 2007, he became the youngest player to play in the Premier League, at 16 years and 65 days old.
He is eligible for selection for the Spireites’ clash with Coventry City tomorrow and the clash with the Sky Blues can’t come soon enough.
The former Watford man added: “I’m fit, ready and itching for the opportunity.”
