Manager Jack Lester has added to his backroom staff with the appointment of Jake Simpson as the club's new strength & conditioning coach.
Simpson, 26, has spent the last 18 months working for Carlisle United, helping to develop the fitness of their players.
Prior to that, he played for a number of clubs including Shrewsbury Town and Stockport County after starting out in the Blackburn Rovers academy.
Commenting on the appointment, Lester said: “Jake is young, really keen and has got a great attitude. He’ll be someone the players buy into straight away because of his passion for the role."
Simpson, whose father Paul is in charge of the England U20 team, said: "I'm delighted to have been given the opportunity to join Chesterfield and I'm looking forward to working with the players and the rest of the backroom team."
