Club officials were saddened to hear that lifelong supporter Samuel Roe passed away earlier this month at the age of 100.
Samuel, who lived in Clay Cross, watched his first match in 1927. His favourite players from his early days as a supporter included Billy Kidd, Ray Middleton and Billy Linacre.
Samuel's more recent favourites included Ernie Moss, Kevin Randall, Kevin Davies and Jack Lester.
During the Second World War, Samuel was a mechanic in the RAF's 617 Squadron (commonly known as 'The Dambusters'). After the war, he was involved in an airdrop operation to provide food to war-torn areas of Germany.
