Young Spireites fan Abbie Jacques, who sadly passed away recently at the age of 12, will be remembered at Saturday's game against Exeter City.
Abbie's father Ian and younger brother Charlie, who often attended matches with her, have been invited to the game, along with other family members.
Ian and Charlie will be taken from the SBK Computers Spires Restaurant to pitch-side before kick-off and then walk out to the centre circle with the matchball.
Fans are encouraged to join in a round of applause to mark Abbie's life after 12 minutes have gone in the match. An image of Abbie will be shown on the big screen at this time and there will also be a tribute piece in the matchday programme.
The hashtag #applause4abbie will be used on Twitter to encourage others to share the message and help raise awareness of the tribute.
Abbie’s funeral was held today at St Lawrence Church in North Wingfield. Our sincere condolences go to Abbie’s family and friends at this time.
