Supporters are advised that the format for the club’s Player of the Year event has been changed.
The event, which is taking place at the Proact following the last match of the season on Sunday, April 30, will now feature a pie & pea supper, rather than a three-course meal.
Tickets will be sold at the substantially reduced cost of just £5 with the proceeds split equally between Zoe Edge’s fundraising pot and The Child Foundation.
Director & company secretary Ashley Carson explained the thinking behind the decision. He said: “The uptake for the event was disappointing so rather than cancel it, we will go ahead with a revised plan.
“The awards will still be handed out, as planned, with comedian Gary Marshall providing the entertainment and reduced bar prices on offer.
“Those who have already booked for the event will be given the opportunity to attend and the remaining tickets will be made available to season ticket holders. We felt that it was important to reward season ticket holders for their commitment in this way.”
Tickets will go on sale at 9am next Monday, with a maximum of two tickets per season ticket available on a first come, first served basis. They can be purchased by phoning 01246 269300 (ext 4153) and making a credit/debit card payment or visiting the ticket office during opening hours.
