New signing Jerome Binnom-Williams admits that he jumped at the chance to sign a two-year deal with Chesterfield.
The former Peterborough United defender joined Jordan Sinnott and Delial Brewster in putting pen to paper on a new two-year deal yesterday and like his new team mates he’s more than looking forward to the new season.
Speaking exclusively to iFollow, Binnom-Williams said: “I’m pleased to sign. When I saw that they wanted to sign me in my off-season I knew that I couldn’t turn down the chance to sign for Chesterfield.
“It was towards the end of the season when we played at Chesterfield that I heard they wanted to sign me.
"Speaking to my agent and my family I felt that I couldn’t say no to this opportunity.”
Binnom-Williams is no stranger to Chesterfield, having scored the winner for Burton in a 2-1 victory at the Proact in September 2015.
So what was it that attracted him to Chesterfield?
“There were a lot of things,” he explained.
“The style of football, the fans and the stadium is lovely, especially when I scored against them! Though that’s in the past and I’m hoping to score for us now.”
And the attacking full-back wasted no time in setting out his aims for the coming season.
He added: “Promotion - I want to push for it here. I’ve done it before at other clubs that I’ve been at and I want to fight, help the team with my ability and help the team get promoted.”
