Deadline day signing Osman Kakay jumped at the chance to join the Spireites despite only finding out about the move late last night.
Speaking to Player HD for the first time, the right-back expressed his delight at joining the club on loan until the end of the season.
“I’m really happy to be here to be able to play some games,” he said. “It was a bit of a last minute thing.
“I had a game yesterday with the QPR U23s and I was told after that I needed to come to Chesterfield.
“I needed to go out on loan, I would have played anywhere but I feel like this is a very good move for me to come to League One and play for Chesterfield.”
Manager Gary Caldwell had a big impact in convincing the 19 year-old to come to the Proact and believes the manager's style suits his game.
Kakay explained: “I spoke to the gaffer, and he said he likes young players and he’s willing to play them. He’s got a philosophy to play out from the back and a passing game so that’s really good,”
“I like to get forward but I can defend as well. I like to interact with the play, be quick, get tight and tackle hard.
“Recently I’ve been looking at players like Danny Rose and Kyle Walker because they’re modern full-backs so I compare myself to one of them.”
Kakay is in line to make his debut on Saturday against Oldham Athletic and is itching to get playing.
“I’m buzzing and I can’t wait to touch the pitch – I really want to get out there,” he added.
