Team News

Walsall boss Jon Whitney, must decide whether to include Amadou Bakayoko and Scott Laird in the starting XI, after the duo impressed from the bench in Saturday's match with AFC Wimbledon.

Chesterfield manager Gary Caldwell, admits that both Dion Donohue and Jon Nolan are getting closer to a return to the first team squad, and will assess them both before the game. Meanwhile, despite being back in training, the match will come too soon for full back, Paul McGinn.

Form Guide

Walsall find themselves in 12th position in League One, seven points off the play-off places. The 1-0 defeat, away at Wimbledon, leaves them with two wins, two draws and two defeats from their last six matches. They have however, won their last four league fixtures at the Banks' Stadium.

Saturday's defeat to Oxford United meant that the Spireites have won just once in their last 12 matches, and leaves the Spireites eight points from safety in Sky Bet League One.

The two teams have previously met this season at the Proact in August, where a Ched Evans double gave the Spireites a 2-0 victory.

From the Dugout

Spireites boss Gary Caldwell knows that the Saddlers will pose a tough test, and has urged his team to find consistency in order to get out of trouble.

He said: "It's a typical League One game, we have to be up for the fight and match their intensity.

"We also have to deal with the home crowd and the backing that they'll have, but I believe we can beat anyone in the league if we get a consistent performance.

"It only takes one result to turn your season around, and we'll keep working towards that."
