The Spireites completed the signing of 19-year-old David Faupala on Tuesday, on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season. Here's a bit more about him...
The highly-rated striker, who scored on his City debut, was part of a quartet of deadline day signings for Chesterfield.
Originally of Lens, the 6' 1" forward signed for Manchester City in 2015 on a three-year deal and immediately impressed, netting in the club’s pre-season tour of Spain.
Faupala, who had been at Lens since the age of 13, is known for his impressive aerial presence and lethal strike.
He scored consistently for the Elite Development Squad, and was rewarded with a first senior start in the FA Cup against Chelsea, where he scored the only goal in a 5-1 loss.
A regular for the France under 16s before his transfer to Manchester, the forward has also appeared for the U17s and 18s teams.
This is his second loan spell after starting the season with NAC Breda in the Dutch Jupiler League, scoring once in four appearances.
Faupala was part of a trio of Manchester City youngsters at NAC Breda, playing alongside team-mates Thomas Agyepong and Ashley Smith-Brown.
He returned to Manchester City at the beginning of January and has linked-up with his new Chesterfield team-mates for the remainder of the campaign.
