Sheffield Wednesday keeper Cameron Dawson has joined the Spireites on an emergency loan.

The 22-year-old has been brought in after Joe Anyon suffered a broken arm in last night's Checkatrade Trophy tie at Fleetwood Town.

Dawson, who has made four appearances for Wednesday, has been capped by England at U19 level. He had previous loan spells at Plymouth Argyle and Wycombe Wanderers.

Special dispensation has been received to sign Dawson on an initial seven-day loan, which can be renewed on a seven-day cycle until a more permanent solution can be found during the transfer window.

Manager Jack Lester commented: "Cameron is somebody we have known about and really like and we're delighted to have been able to sign him."

Director & company secretary Ashley Carson added: "Sheffield Wednesday's help and support in allowing this deal to go ahead is very much appreciated and I would like to place on my record personal thanks to the club owner, Dejphon Chansiri."

Subject to the necessary clearance being received, Dawson will be in the squad for Saturday's game against Barnet.
