Ahead of Tuesday's Football4Autism charity walk, which ends at the Proact, Accessible Derbyshire's Gillian Scotford has stressed the importance of people learning more about autism.
The 21-mile walk will start at Rotherham United's New York Stadium and take in both Sheffield clubs before walkers complete their 21-mile trek by visiting the Proact.
Gillian, who will take part in the walk with fellow Accessible Derbyshire founder Jane Carver, said: “Most people have heard of autism but are not quite sure how it affects people or what it means to people.
“People often think of accessibility as something to do with wheelchair access and what we tell them is that, actually, out of 11 million people in the country who are disabled, only six to eight per cent are wheelchair users.”
